Belmont Mennonite Church (BMC) began in 1929 when a group of people from Prairie Street Mennonite Church in Elkhart started a Sunday school in the Hudson-Sterling addition of Elkhart. The congregation worshiped in a building located on Belmont Avenue until it moved in 1997 one block west into its current building on Oxford Street. This vibrant congregation, which includes many young families and children, representing Elkhart and surrounding communities, consists of all ages and occupations with an average attendance of 140. Mandy Yoder serves as pastor, and there is currently a search process in place for the second pastor position.
