Belmont Mennonite Church (BMC) began in 1929 when a group of people from Prairie Street Mennonite Church in Elkhart started a Sunday school in the Hudson-Sterling addition of Elkhart. The congregation worshipped in a building located on Belmont Avenue until it moved in 1997 one block west into its current building on Oxford Street. This vibrant congregation, which includes many young families and children, representing Elkhart and surrounding communities, consists of all ages and occupations with an average attendance of 150. Larry Rohrer and Mandy Yoder serve as pastors of BMC.
